The
China Creek Nature Trail can be found within Fresno County’s
120-acre China Creek Park located in Centerville. This park
is undeveloped so there are no picnic tables, barbecues,
shelters, water fountains or public restrooms. The natural
surroundings are there for your enjoyment and personal experience
of nature’s gentle beauty.
The Sequoia Chapter of the
California Native Plant Society developed the China Creek
Nature Trail (see link below to download). They wanted to
share the experience of a walking trail where you can surround
yourself in an area of vegetation, once so evident in the
valley. They focused this trail experience on the beauty
and importance of native plants to our lives. When planning a trip to
China Creek Park take highway 180 to Smith Avenue in Centerville,
turn south at Centerville School, drive to the stop sign,
continue to the gate, and you are at the park’s entrance.
Remember to bring water, a hat, a camera, binoculars, mosquito
repellent and pack out what ever you’ve packed in
with you.
We’d like to hear
from you about your experiences on the China Creek Nature
Trail.
